Full disclosure, I forgot I'd put limitations on my copy of FLC to prevent jump gate usage while I was experimenting with some different routes. That led to the profit figures being way higher than they should have been, because the lane/gate route is naturally much shorter. Seeing how popular the route was, I figured we'd leave it up until the server restart this morning and let things play out.
The current post-purchase profit figures are roughly on par with average ore profits (to within -/+ 50/c/s), which I feel is fair considering there is is an infinite amount of this stuff and you're not reliant on other players to get hold of it. You're taking a slight hit to profit in exchange for convenience. If you want to self-mine and keep 100% of the profit, you're more than welcome to do so, but you'll be making much less cash on an hourly basis.
the difference is that trading ore doesn't makes you a kos target
you could've just nerfed the sell price for it on lawful bases and buffed it for pirate bases to compensate, the only sense to make it more expensive is if someone wanted to grief traders
(15 mills per 5k load is hilarious and it's a hell of a loss if a random RM/UN/MND gunboat/bomber camps out and kills you)

I can try
but the last event people just abuse knowing there will be a lot of traders and that they are targets
Was just safer to trade anything else (when i first docked it was the nerfed price already)
EDIT: also isn't the 3000 price really bad as when I get killed I LOSE 3000xcargo
so I have 9mill less with my basic train, and much higher chance to get shot down or intercepted when it's a new publicly announced route people will want to try? (Probably not an issue for others but I've played for a few days only and trade/mine while exploring so don't have much to my name)
EDIT2: Yes, already happening - gunboats other than the official fire order camping the trade routes, taking money e.g. gaians - the price should be better than ores in my opinion
so why no Kruger allowed ?? .. that gold run is over worked already btw ..no matter.. BUT.. why Kruger being cut out of the fun.. maybe please adjust that.. My unarmed KRUGER transports are itching to get in on the fun.. federals cringe at the site of my mighty colossus bearing down on the cowardly scum ..

Trade Event
I'm very sorry to everyone for the delay in formally closing these events down (the sell points have been disabled since the patch release). The post-release churn has kept me busy, but it'd be remiss of me not to post the results to show how everyone did. As explained in the first post, this event was purely intended to provoke RP, so there are no formal outcomes resulting from it. A hell of a lot of you made a great deal of money however.
