I also think it's good to be authentic and include the game hud, chat. etc.
Also, regarding others having concerns of the game needing to be cleaned up first, I fully agree, but there's no harm in collecting the material before pushing it.

Don't.
First fix the problems with the new patch.
I fully recognise these issues, and we are probably going to be another hotpatch or two along before we start seriously pushing forward with this stuff.
That said (and as @Kauket said), I'd like to announce this now so we can start gathering material, and give folks time to think about scenes they'd like to create and contribute.
Particularly in terms of getting footage for a good trailer, there's probably a decent lead time between asking for something and getting a good result. In that sense, it pays to ask early and involve the community while we're working.
On the point of a trailer, there's no need to assemble the whole thing. If you have a particular clip that you think fits the bill (a dramatic highlight of a big fight, a sweeping shot of a huge convoy, etc) feel free to contribute that too.
A good mix of staged artsy shots and live gameplay shot would also be great. The more players there are featured, the better.
Funny I saw this thread and literal minutes later I see this on my youtube Feed:
And that was posted today.... So I have to ask, do th devs have an inside guy with The Escapist?
Any fool can blow up a ship!
But to look your enemy in the eye, knowing that you will remember his face for the rest of your life.
Now that takes ... a stomach, much stronger than you will ever have.
