OFs can give orders to indies, no? I don't think DTR has ever actually ordered an indie to do anything in the span of 2 years but that's one of the few remaining actual and extremely negligible positives of being an OF. Other than perks and being able to do the above, there's no really any other incentives to stay an OF (but that's another story entirely as the OF system actually penalizes active groups).

This pretty much. Corsairs ID line is more powerful than any actual ''laws''. They are just guidelines, nothing more, RP fluff.

XR aren't as easily mined as they used to be and are much more of a time-sink. You could also do some trade negotiations, RP it out, just like you did with us not long ago and got yourself a trading permit.

If anyone needs Relics, they are more than welcome to RP and negotiate. DTR has sold and mined XRs for people for 2 years now.

Yes, a grand total of one: myself. Who also had zero input regarding recipes using relics, as well as placement of relics in the game world post removal of Xi. I only provided code to handle refineries, actual recipes design and placement of commodities sellpoints was handled by systems/econ devs.

Also, Relics are mineable by no less than FOUR factions: Core, Corsairs, Order and Outcasts, they are more than welcome to in-game challenge the DTRs supposed monopoly. It's a space shooter game, if you don't like a certain group staking claim somewhere, you can go and shoot them to prove them wrong, just like Mollys did to the DTR base in Dublin a few weeks ago.

We can do without accusations of bias where there is none, however. Thanks.

@Aingar they are worried about indies not being able to mine i.e. Corsair indies - but laws are just RP fluff, you can't pirate your own IDs, they are panicking for nothing hah. If people use Corsair Alts to mine relics it doesn't matter what laws say - you can't pirate your own ID doing what they are supposed to do Smile

Freighters are pretty survivable. Log in a handful of them, mine relics, see if DTR can actually do anything about it. I'm pretty sure you have a few seconds of jumphole immunity nowadays so parking a few caps somewhere isn't going to cut it.

Encourage any of the local factions to try their hand at breaking up the monopoly. Surely the Order wouldn't like Corsairs trying to enforce a monopoly on extremely dangerous alien artifacts? Maybe they'll do something about it. There's also Outcasts and the Core.

Stop trying to win your conflicts on the forums and win them in-game instead.

As Faction RIGHT 1 says

Official player factions have authority over players of the same NPC affiliation, as long as RP justification is provided. This authority applies in forums and in-game, and applies to player faction diplomacy, and strategic and tactical direction, however, exercise of that authority, on the forums and in game, is restricted to official faction members with the rank of the official faction leader and second in command(s) of the faction. The authority may be exercised through the use of in-game in-RP orders, which, if not obeyed, can result in in-game in-RP consequences (arrest, court martial, and even "lethal" force in extreme circumstances). Official player factions cannot, under any cicrumstances, require another player to follow non-canon RP if that player doesn't want to.

Your Relic blocade is not canon event, hence cannot be forced. Also one post with announcement isn't enough to tell your amigos why they suddently cannot mine relics there. And also you cannot bounty your own id (Just to remind you) and Players still can ignore your silly demands to stop, because you cannot pirate your own id as well, I believe.

No, you cannot order Corsairs to not handle relics as an OF, you'd get sanctioned very fast for that if you start shooting them when they refuse - it's what they are supposed to do hah. It's the same in Gallia - there are licenses handed out where you need "law enforcement escort and permission on-site" to enter certain areas and for certain factions. People get to just make lawful alts as part of their convoys and circumvent that. And that's all right.

If people make alts to fill their PoBs, you get to go after the non-corsair ships they use later pretty much.

OFs going after their own indies would be a very slippery abusable slope, especially if it's something in lore like Corsairs handling relics

That's really just extreme examples. "Questionable" wouldn't cut it, they'd have to do something outright hostile, and even then you should FR5 first after proper roleplay. The only one allowed by staff I remember was the LR- vs [R] turf war that was pre-agreed with admins and the players...it lasted two fights probably.

yet, I only see people offering solution to play on other factions, instead of actually discussing about DTR killing corsairs
