You mean players switching between characters and RP them with the same knowledge of the former? That is basically unsolvable. The only thing that can help is use of brain and not being an ass. It is a nonsense RP wise (mostly), yes, but there is nothing you can do about it.
And how come that's a bad thing that a player just searches for interaction?
Just becouse you don't like it makes it bad? Or just becouse you don't like it the player who is seeking for interaction becomes a bad person, or bad roleplayer or god forsaken pvp whore cancer of discovery?

Trader1: Hi, where are you going Trader2?
Trader2: To New Tokyo!
*Trader1 docks and switches to Outcast1 located in Tau 29. - Tau 29 -
*Trader2's drops from the trade lane.
Outcast1: Pay two millions or I will have your head for dinner!
*KNF1 arrives
Outcast1: Oh no, I'm so dead!
*Outcast1 has been killed by KNF1's ultimate neko power.
Trader2: Thank you officer.
KNF1: No problem, god speed.
*KNF1 switches to Hogosha1 in Kyushu - Kyushu -
*Trader2 has been killed by Hogosha1's lust for pixel money.

There is bad interaction and there is good interaction. Metagaming to hunt someone down is one of the bad ones.

This is easily solved. Here's my version...
Trader 1: Hi Trader 2, where're you going?
Trader 2: *Smiles knowingly to himself* Hey! I'm going to *Says name of system where he is not going.
*Trader 1 docks and switches to pirate 1 located in named system*
Pirate 1: Haha, that juicy trader should be through here any second....yup...any second at all...
*Trader 2 docks safely in real destination and makes millions upon selling cargo*
I've done this. I dunno if it's good RP, but technically my trade character is cynical anyways, and wouldn't normally trust another person, just like I am in real life.
However, I guess the examples above mine are unavoidable if you are serious about your RP and your character is naieve or automatically trusting of everyone.
Honestly though, my example was a joke, because, if some sort of lawful asked my traders destination, I tell the the truth for good rp. After all, said lawful person is there to make sure I'm not breaking the law. Because my trade character is law abiding, I have nothing to hide. But, if said lawful switches to pirate and screws up my day...well I guess that's what keeps disco interesting...
If two of your chars are friends: How can friends not talk to each other about stuff? Entirely up to you how much they know. They just shouldn't become friends out of a sudden just so you can show that nasty bugger who's the boss in town. Or be befriended crossing actively hostility between their factions. As much as the latter one might be possible inRP, it's not very healthy for the overall server climate when everyone starts doing it. (Not telling you did either of those, just trying to show the line)

Part of me agreed, part of me disagreed. It will kill the bounty hunters, since they wont be able to hunt, the pirates will be hurt but not that much since the major trade routes are clear and also the traders wont be able to see where are the pirates. It is very tricky issue actually.
On the topic:
Meta-gaming is when you use information that your character "NOTE- not player" does not know about it.
For example you have miner A who mines in Omegas your miner sees pirate in system who is known by your BHG char B and you run/ switch to your BHG char. It is meta-gaming from one side, from other it could be a bit different situation, you check the on-line list then sees the pirate B and logs on the Bounty Hunter character- it is not metagaming in this case funny uh?

I've got problem related with that. I usually don't remember whether
it is the character A I'm flying at the moment who knows that X
is a cop/pirate/terrorist or is it the character B who knows it,
therefore I shouldn't run when I see him on scanners and fell prey.
I just remember that "X is...". But how do I know it?:(Any advices?
Feel free to PM me regarding any grammar/spelling/other language mistakes I have made in my posts.
I guess I'm a bit confused. It happens a lot. I was informed that the in game list, when you press "y", is typically Out-of-game knowledge and should not be used to locate or hunt others thus forcing more RP interaction. I thought it was a help to locate and communicate with others but I was told that would be still OORP knowledge helping an in-game character.
My solution was to have, for example, a scout fighter in the sigma 13 or Honshu system. My trader would then land at a similar system, I would then switch back to the scout. That scout would fly around NT and Honshu for about 20 minutes and if no one popped up that could be potential hostile, I landed the scout, switched to the trade ship and hoped that nothing popped up in the next 5 minutes. Any passing transports I'd keep a record on my little palm III PAD and PM chat if need to about where they came from and what the system status is. Unfortunately this tactic is useless if someone keeps a watch on who logs in and out and checks the on line list in the chat window.
As far as my character's knowing each other, I play it as if one character is in a neighboring system to another one of my characters, they both know in real time. I have five freelancers three transports and a cruiser. One character over two years as built up the other eight and are directed by him. The transports typically RP outside the knowledge of the freelancers and visa versa while the cruise ship is somewhere in-between. I think this is what is called "Metagaming." My goal is to make it so they work together as a small group, but in genuine RP, don't collectively share the same knowledge as the other.
This may sound like a stretch, but when I RP one freelancer then another, I get into the character's character. Meaning, it's hard enough to keep the mind set of that character's attitude and process what the other characters know as well, so I just don't.

Wish I had an answer.
To be honest I think you're right and all of this really just comes down to that "golden rule." I know this is a touchy subject and being this is just a game, I'm simply trying to play this in a fair manor. I know, good luck.
Sometimes, when all you want is to gain your freedom, you must be willing to risk it all.
