His parents were both part of the [[Bretonia Police Authority]], yet only as communication operators, not actual pilots, so Sophius didn't gain any interest in flight. He passed trough his general studies between the top of his classes, after which he became his mother's unofficial assistant. ===Years in Bretonia=== After turning 19, Sophius came to admire the cosmos, thus he decided he should look for some way to explore it. As he was given some starting money from his parents which were proud of his aspirations, he soon bought a ship, a standard [[Cavalier]] without weapons. With no actual plan, he decided to imput his application to the Academy of Science on [[Planet Cambridge]], as well as participated to some free-entrance [[BPA]] trainings organised in those years. After finishing his studies he took a job as a diplomatic consultant for the BPA, but he was instructed to keep in guard, thus he equipped his ship with standard weaponry. ===After Bretonia=== In 818 [[A.S.]], Sophius decided he had both enough money and enough courage to start exploring and putting all his experience to a better use than just aiding in the pursuit of common criminals. Given he had no interest in just going to another House, he thought of flying either in the Omegas or the Taus. Finally, uncertain that he would resist in the Omegas, as they were quite full with [[Corsair]] activity, he decided to fly towards the Taus. Yet since Gallia began it's invasion, the question was "How to do it?". With some luck and a few connections, he was led by some [[Zoners]] towards the Baffin system, from which he could easily pass into Tau 29 without meeting and [[Gallic Navy]]. He remained at [[Freeport 6]] for a few months, gathering information about everything he could. Later on, he left towards Tau 23, thinking to join the [[IMG]]. He was assaulted on his way by a patrol of [[Outcasts]]. Luckily he was saved by the Guild and taken to Java for recovery. One week later, he accepted to become an independent pilot for them, using his skills to keep the miners safe. One year after, he became acquianted with some [[Colonial]] pilots and grew fond of their cause. Gaining more information about the small nation, he felt he could be of help to them, so he soon applied to become a Colonial citizen, as well as a member within their Military. ===As a Colonial=== [[File:Patch49th.png|120px|left]]Considering when he was quite new within the ranks of the military, he was at first a Warrant Officer, but he worked hard to prove himself and had already stopped a few pirates passing trough [[Coronado]], as well as participated in the fights against [[Outcast]] patrols and raids, which he mostly refers to as "cardamine users". He joined with a group of new recruits which have now become his friends, some of them being [[Brenden Costanza]], [[Mark Freytag]], [[Valentine Remadus]] and [[Alicia Reeder]]. He has also met a number of Bounty Hunters and Reaver Mercenaries in this time, people which, even if they are more or less heartless, he has come to respect due to their skills and devotion when it comes to fighting pirates. Just a few weeks after joining, he was promoted to Flight Officer and he continued to work hard within the Republic, now as a member of the 49th "Firebirds" squadron. ====Meeting Anna==== Later the same year, he came in touch with a lovely Flight Officer from the 31st squadron, [[Anna Feathers]]. The two became quite fond of each other, especially since she began to like the Bretonian like-ness in Sophius' personality. A few months later, after a long trip over some plains of [[Planet Leeds]], they admitted their feelings for each other and, considering that they were part of different squadrons, decided to continue on with a relationship. Just days later, they took a 3-days leave and went on Pecos to get married. A bold move on Sophius' side, yet he finally found the woman he loved (now named [[Anna Johnsons]]). ====As a Senior Officer==== T.B.A. ==Info== ===Personality=== Sophius is, more or less, a very calculated person. His main attribute is the diplomatic and inquisitive nature that drives him, making him able to handle almost any situation. He, obviously, tries most of the times to find a solution without any flying lasers around, at least attempting to convince a pirate to calm down and leave (or allow himself to be arrested, in some cases), but when it comes to using his ships weaponry, he doesn't back down. Outside of critical situations from space, he has the life of a natural Bretonian gentleman, trying to balance the time he spends alone to study with the time he spends around people at a station's bar or some public quarters. There are also moments when he prefers to roam out in nature; in the past he used to walk in the gardens of his home city, now he sometimes flies to [[Cortez]] and walks on the beaches of [[Planet Curacao]]. (obviously in his free time) As a bad side, Sophius tends to go over his head sometimes, perhaps trying to do something out of hope but with no actual results. But, due to his nature, Sophius believes that anything can happen, thus he hopes someday, Nomads may become allies of [[Sirius]]. So far, he hasn't found any of such sort, but he doesn't change his opinion because he hasn't met too many nomad individuals. *Relations to The Order Sophius has had the chance of meeting one or two [[Order]] agents, but it hasn't been enough for him to make his mind about them. He has heard enough to consider them as good people, but given many reasons he still wishes to learn more about them. *Relations to Gallia Sophius has seen what [[Gallia]] has done to Bretonia, Kusari and the Colonials. He isn't hateful, so he keeps a rather indiferent stance towards the Gauls, but he realises their Monarchic leadership needs to be stopped and thinks something should be done, with or without force. He still hopes that the Gallic general population may in time see the truth regarding their leaders. *Relations to Kusari Although the Colonials are enemies with [[Kusari]], Sophius stands indiferent towards this nation. He sees no reason for any more fights, now even more since the war with Gallia.}} ===Owned Ships=== {{SL | Aether | [[Nyx]] class VHF | Col_vhf.png}} This is his standard patrol craft, mostly used when going to the outer Tau systems or Orkney. It is equipped with 4 [[PHOENIX]] class weapons and 2 Improved Debilitator Pulse Guns. {{SL | Horizon | [[Pytho]] class Bomber | Col_bomber.png}} As the bombers are his favorite ships, quite against his calm and diplomatic nature, he prefers to fly such a craft whenever he needs to take down the large enemy vessels that he gets annoyed by. It is equipped with one pair of [[Bomber Energy Cannon]]s and another pair of [[Bomber EMP Turret]]s, also keeping a [[SNAC]] and a [[Nova Torpedo Launcher]] for heavy power. ==Current Status== As his responsibilities grow - he is now taking care of his own duties but also tries to oversee some of the members of the 49th Squadron.
