Military Record
Richard Robert Fitzgerald (United States of America, 2188 AS - Unknown) was one of the last remaining Alliance forces left behind on Sol, during the escape of the six sleeper ships. He was known to be stationed at Fort Lauderdale, on the dark side of the Pluto planetoid. An abandoned military garrison left over to a small maintenance crew, that caught the emergency message too late for being able to leave Sol onboard their destined sleeper ship, the Liberty. Little is known what happened later, but sources tell that they left the Fort using a jury-rigged supply transport with some stripped cryogenic pods from the USS Mount Saint Helen, thus converting it into a small sleeper ship, without of course the bigger engine core, that was the only drawback. The estimated time of arrival was, as planned, eight hundred and five years.
The USS Amnesty
The remnants of the Alliance Military escaped using conventional travelling equipment, and military-grade cryogenic pods. The shuttle, called the USS Amnesty, left Fort Lauderdale on December 21st 2213, with a total crew of five elements.
The onboard computer of the Amnesty showed that the crew went in cryogenic status only in 2214, after almost a full year in the Oort Cloud, and possibly being the only surviving witnesses of a supernova stray coming from Sol.
The crew of the USS Amnesty
The crew of the USS Amnesty was comprised of the maintenance crew leftover by the Alliance at Fort Lauderdale, when all available personnel was sent to the military installation on Ganimede, the renown moon in orbit around Jupiter.
The small group initially stripped some parts off from the old cruiser USS Mount Saint Helen, using them in a converted transport for their voyage towards the possible location of the other ships ships. The only serious drawback in their plans was, of course, the unavailability of a faster-than-light cruise engine. In fact, their voyage without one was destined to make them cross the Galaxy in a time span of eight hundred years.
A sixth element, a Coalition prisoner and spy was being held at the Fort during the escape, it is unknown if he managed to escape aswell, or if he was left behind by the escaping military forces.
