The '''Barghest''' is a mythological creature from English folklore: a monstrous black dog with huge teeth and claws that comes at night to bring sorrow and fright. The fearsome name belongs to a ship no less fearsome: designed by the [[Liberty Rogues]], the Barghest Bomber is the most heavily armored bomber built in known space, comparable to small gunships and Super Heavy Fighters in size. Piloted by a crew of three, this ship is not only capable of destroying enemy capital ships, but also has a large cargo hold capable of carrying much more salvage than any other fighter could take aboard. This vessel, and the technology powering it, is jealously guarded by both of its parent organizations. Any pilot outside of their ranks found to be in its possession is subject to a short life indeed. | The '''Barghest''' is a mythological creature from English folklore: a monstrous black dog with huge teeth and claws that comes at night to bring sorrow and fright. Handling
The Barghest is one of the slower, less manuverable bombers. It is however, one of the best bombers in terms of armor and firepower. A class six freighter shield enables this Rogue/Molly ship to take nearly three times the shield damage as a bomber mounting a normal class ten fighter shield. This is also one of the few bombers with two torpedo slots and a seperate CD slot. A CD can be mounted, along with a Supernova, and another heavy weapon. The chances to suppliment the Supernova with a Nova, Mini Razor or Inferno are hard to ignore. The choice depends on the pilot's affiliation and mission more than anything else.
Weapon hardpoints
- 4 Class 10 Guns
- 2 Class 5 Turrets (one forward faced)
