The new upgrade to the aging "Juggernaut" class Zoner capital ship was named "Nephilim" after the race of legendary giants. Zoners have customized these vessels to fill multiple roles on the modern battlefield as well as serve as heavy transports and supply ships for the most remote regions of space.
Ships of this class take up unbelievably vast amounts of resources and expert engineering, but are also designed to be in service for several generations, justifying their great cost. The Zoners who travel into the unknown of deep space trust these ships to sustain them during long explorations that are expected to take several generations, and thus outfit the ships to be capable of light industry and hydroponic food production during the voyage. The Nephilim is also capable of making planetfall and establishing a fully autonomous colony.
The new Nephilim is equipped with an expanded docking bay, upgraded navigation and tactical stations, and improved fire control computers. Its reactor core is far more efficient than the previous design, propelling the ship with the same core used in the "Leviathan" class.
It is not known how many of these ships are deployed by the Zoners or to what exact use they are all put, but it has become a certainty that the Zoners do have the capability to produce them.
Handling
- This ship is too large to use docking bays, it must use mooring points.

Review
While seemingly one of the more powerful ships in the game, the four hardpoints for turrets on the nose make aiming with this ship horrible at times due to an intentional design choise, making the use of weapons groups essentel (or just not butting turrets on the first four hardpoints, instead putting the heavy weapons there). This ship is great if you're wanting to sit around and RP, and properly outfitted and flown by someone who knowns what they are doing it is capable of soloing the keepers flagship. Against smaller targets this is one of the most helpless ships ingame, as solaris turrets cannot even shoot the length of the ship, not that bombers would need to close in on this as a target, as it can be hit by a SNAC at about 3k range. The Largest Battleship in game by far, it is a beast of a ship. Only 'Slightly' hard to get through asteroid fields, but not as hard as one might think for a ship the size of a small planetoid. Its got a whopping 1,500,000 armor to boot, the highest of any ship short of the Barge, with a Capital Class 8 Armor Upgrade it has a unbeatable 6 million armor rating. Being on the very heavy end of the 'Heavy Battleship' subclass, it only has sixteen turrets compared to smaller battleships that have 18. Output is your friend with this ship (sheer turret damage output...) as with many other heavy battleships. However, when fighting other large Battleships/capital ships such as the Nomad Battleship, INPUT is more important (the amount of damage you can take in before kerploding) In the hands of a skilled captain, you can solo one of the Nomads big jellies. It is a must to outfit this ship for Anti Capital duties, because outfitting it for Anti-Fighter duties would be a massive waste of time as they can see you coming from 20k away and Solaris turrets cannot even reach the other end of the ship. This is probably the most vulnerable capital ship to bombers. Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Camtheman |
