Corporate Background

Founded in the year 819 by Peter Andersson, Maersk was, and is, a collective of several corporations bonded into one under the name of Maersk Group, or simply, Maersk.

Maersk initially started as small shipping company in Bretonia, mainly contracts of shipping goods throughout Bretonia. Shortly after the company's breakthrough by beginning to sign shipping contracts to Liberty, Maersk rapidly grew by purchasing and integrating smaller companies into their domain. Even with the amazing growth in the company's worth and size it started to slow down, however, the board knew the reason of the decreasing profit was because of them being affiliated with the Bretonia, therefore denying access to trade with Kusari due to the war, and the rising tensions with Rheinland also cut off the opportunity to expand in that area.

It didn't take much for Chairman Andersson to convince the board to take the company to new heights, so, they released their bonds from Bretonia and with certain deals and contracts with Interspace Commerce, they had become an Independent Corporation. With the chains to Bretonia cut off, the company's expansion and profit income had exploded over any estimations. Just as before, as Maersk continued to expand into other houses, it also held the policy of buying out other smaller companies from all the houses and expanding even further. Just like any other trading company, one of Maersk's few concerns were pirates, the company did not have any defense wing to defend the transports, so they had to make due with hiring mercenaries. Although, it is known that Maersk doesn't suffer from pirates and outlaw nations as much as other corporations, it is speculated that they might have dealings with some criminal groups although there is no evidence, and they are known as a completely multi-house lawful -even if a bit shady- corporation.

Current Corporation Status

With the amazing rate of growth and income, Maersk has changed from a small Bretonian shipping company into an international and Independent Corporation, it's value measured with hundreds of millions of credits. Although the corporation policy about convoy defense has not changed, meaning that Maersk aligned transports only hire mercenaries for protection, it is known that somehow, they are even less prone to being pirated. Several other rival corporations have sprung 'rumors' or even evidence of Maersk supplying and working with criminal groups, although Maersk's own resources seem to have allowed them -even with the obvious evidence- to look and still be considered completely legal in the houses. This shows the company does have some amount of influence on house police, concerning bribery or other criminal acts, however, there is no evidence to support any of the accusations.

Divisions of MÆRSK

Even though Maersk has and is consisted of a large number of smaller corporations and groups, they have all been integrated into several divisions which make up Maersk Group.

Maersk Lines

The main division of Maersk, which holds most of the corporation's wealth and assets, by utilizing transports to trade throughout Sirius making profit.

Investment Council

Support Group

Utilizing the beasts of space, supplying Maersk ships of goods and quick repairs, this division works 24/7 and is the technical backbone of Maersk.

Crewing Agency

A division made to support the whole corporation, tasked with finding personnel and possible ship crew to the other divisions, as well as hiring mercenaries to protect the company's interests.
