Gold Wing is the SCRA's regular fighter/bomber unit. Although Officially commanded by Commissar-Captain Al-Rashid, a rampant coward, the unit is really led by Commander Bjorn Thorvaldsson. Commander Thorvaldsson is noted for his extreme devotion to the revolution, and his complete lack of humour, where as Commissar-Captain Al-Rashid is noted for never spending any time in space. The harsh work regeme and low recognition of Gold Wing is rumoured to have driven some of it's pilots to constant abuse of alcohol and other stimulants, but the same could be said of all SCRA forces.
