Pecos is a larger moon composed of rock and ice caught in a 37 year cycle of melting and thawing as its orbit around Salina brings it closer and then further away from the sun. The IMG established a small mining colony during 812 A.S. after completing work on Barrier Gate. Pecos possesses a breathable but dangerously thin atmosphere. Elevations over 30 meters above sea level require machine assisted breathing. Deep within the moon crust are frozen deposits of what IMG knows to be natural frozen heavy water and Pecos is on track to become one of the largest sources of deuterium in Sirius once the mining operations reach their maximum efficiency. The arrival of the Republic in Coronado has helped reinforce the Guild's position in the system while also providing a viable market to buy and sell from. Although the Guild and Republic colonies are separate, they enjoy a fair amount of interaction.
