Etna Base is the only Corsair installation in the Omicron Eta system. Occupying a strategic location near the Lambda jump gate, this base serves as the main strongpoint for operations against the Outcasts in Omicron Eta. The Outcasts have attempted to destroy the base many times, but without success - the immensely dense planetary fragment is almost impervious to conventional weapons, and the Outcasts do not favor the boarding tactics readily used by the Corsairs.
Supplies are almost always in short demand at Etna. This has led to several scandals, most notable the "harvesting" of their prisoners for donor organs to treat Corsairs wounded in the fighting. When news of these atrocities reached Crete, Corsair leaders put a swift and brutal end to the practise, but the damage was already done. Many Corsair veterans now have organs in them that were afflicted by Cardamine mutations, and the long term effects of this are still unclear.
