During the early colonization of Baffin by the religious Sect which discovered the system, the large gas giant in a distant orbit was largely ignored. Eventually, the planet became a symbol of the Sect's ancient Terran history, and was named after its Goddess. The Pueblo Bonito temple was placed in orbit near Eris to provide an exclusive place for the Sect's meditation, worship, and secret Initiation Rites.
