The Barghest is a mythological creature from English folklore: a monstrous black dog with huge teeth and claws that comes at night to bring sorrow and fright. The fearsome name belongs to a ship no less fearsome: designed by the [[Liberty Rogues (player faction)|Liberty Rogues]], the Barghest Bomber is the most heavily armored bomber built in known space, comparable to small gunships and Super Heavy Fighters in size. Piloted by a crew of three, this ship is not only capable of destroying enemy capital ships, but also has a large cargo hold capable of carrying much more salvage than any other fighter could take aboard. This vessel, and the technology powering it, is jealously guarded by both of its parent organizations. Any pilot outside of their ranks found to be in its possession is subject to a short life indeed.
