I try to always avoid making something out of filter, I only use blur and sharpen. Try making a space backdrop instead of that green stuff, also there is a guide somewhere on the internets for making laser beams. Use Google image and search for "Signature Tutorials" best place to get you started I think.*
'Kay, I looked for something explaining how to make lasers when I was making it, but no luck. As for the background, Zygoeths wanted it instead.
I have the lase guide on my computer, I just didn't want to upload it. No idea where the credit goes on this, might even be at the end of the guide. Here you go:

Once you have made the beam, use CTRL+T to shrink it and place it where you need to too be. After you have placed it go to: Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen. That should clean it up, if it still looks off then sharpen it BEFORE you do CTRL+T. I haven't tried the lase beam guide that way, I don't like it's outcome to well. But it's better than nothing, the way I do it takes for AGES to complete anyway.*
Okay, thanks, I'll look through it next time I need to make some:).
No filters ever? Odd ethos.
Sharpen has the side effect of making a lot of things look very bad. Use it sparingly, and only on things that need it.
Didn't use sharpen at all in it, and few are the occasions I have used it o.O I suppose the background needs a re-doing then?
There. Changed the background to a nebula.
Oh, and those are really nice, Yue Fei. I've got a long way to go:P.
Bah, I'm new enough to this stuff that I need to rely on filters to save the day. At least I'm not using solely stock images, right?
