If it'd be brighter a dark inner Shadow or Glow can do that. Similar to what I've had Ages ago. Saying, the Shape isn't really making it easier too.

it's nice - but maybe text should be also in that scratched hole ?
anyway here is my project-x sig:
what Ya think?
Anomander, your sigs are all awesome.
here is my lastest try
Recently made this one.
Already put it as my siggy.
Simple, yet interesting, I say personally.
Criticism?
party
it needs more of a structure. Its currently just some brushes with no background. Make it seem like its one whole piece. Not like now when you have 3-4 pieces with an individual feel to them
and here is my latest ones, first one is only an experiment though...
I've just started using photoshop a few days ago, just gettin' used to it, but thanks.
I'm havin' trouble with backgrounds though.
Anyway, lovely siggys!
Characters are within' the background, but set apart and the words in the last three add more of a mystery about the character themselves.
I vote a +1 on you makin' all siggys for every. ^^
Good for first attempts.
Try blending using transparency, lightings and contrasts instead of color wash.
Fei: I actually did use transparency on the posted image, my siggy was just boredom at 4 am. lol
EDIT: Btw, on my siggy, I'll start with the bottom left to top right:
Bottom Left says: Connection Stable
Middle Left says: Prime9
Top Right says: Data Feed
Just a heads up.
Oh. I actually didn't look at what you posted.
