The CS Rathgrith II, also more commonly known as the Rathgrith II, is the Successor to the ZDV Rathgrith. Rathgrith II was built in 820 AS at Renzu Shipyards for the Hogosha as the CS Hideo, for the purpose of border protection against Junkers entering Kusari space, as well as dealing with other 'unfavorables'. Once retired, it was handed over to Akira Kiyoshi to be scrapped in March of 825 AS, the ship being supplanted by newer vessels entering the Hogosha's care. Through a proxy transaction involving Harpy Squadron's Elena "Birdie" Graham, the Hideo was sold to Nodoka for a reduced price, and renamed as CS Rathgrith II. The Rathgrith is named after the Nordic valkyrie Rathgrith, who was also known as the Plan-Breaker.
Taking notes from both the original Rathgrith, as well as from Auxesian gunboat tactics as experienced firsthand by Nodoka during the Commune situation at Freeport 11 at the tail-end of her administration, the Rathgrith II boasts a Advanced Anti-snubcraft loadout, as well as increased speed and agility as well as reduced size. However, this comes at the cost of armor, which, due to the seen effectiveness of Auxesian gunboats such as the Predator, in combat, this is a more than suitable trade-off.
