Albegna is a desert world with a thin atmosphere comprised of mainly carbon dioxide (96%) and trace amounts of argon and nitrogen. While initial surveys detected little to no precious metals on the surface, more thorough scans revealed the presence of large deposits of Titanium and veins of more precious metals within the Planet's crust. As a result, the Outcasts elected to establish an underground colony. Despite the colony's purpose as a mining outpost and military facility, further study is being carried out to address the possibility of terraforming the planet using massive bodies of water provided by comets or ice asteroids found in abundance in the Tau-37 system.
