Template talk:Version
Category integration
Suggestion: Add oudated versions to the Category:Stubs. Alternatively, they should be added to an easy-to-reach thread like the To-Do page or similar. Currently one has to go to Categories and browse manually for it, or keep it bookmarked. Not really elegant, and I like being able to access them quickly to see what remains to be done. The Editing threads are a mess already, I know, but a somewhat more central placement surely would help.
Additionally: Currently old versions sometimes remain due to the Historical category (e.g. all currently existing 4.84 pages). Would there be a way to check if a "Historical" tag has been applied which then removes or at least puts it into a new category so it doesn't confuse with "To be updated" old versions? Maybe create a version category "v4.84 historical" or somesuch? -Senshi 11:06, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe a category containing all pages marked as Outdated by this template?
- I'm not sure if we can check for another template, but we can add a parameter to the version template so that it doesn't include any categories.

Versions
I highly recommend {{Outdated}} be replaced with {{#if: {{{2|}}} | | {{Outdated}}}}. Versions should not be assigned outside of this template, and because it is locked and almost never updated this is simply impossible. Historical articles should also never show as Outdated.
