The Council of Aurora

Introduction

The Council of Aurora was founded during the last known year of the 'Rebellion Of Rights'. The rebellion lasted for 28 long years before the political leader decided to create a Council conceding of 8 members, and a parliament of 250 members. Though the civilians liked the idea of having a new type of government, it will wasn't good enough. The rebels decided that their violence will only stop if Lord Edwards dropped from any sort of power. Soon after his resignation of power, he was assassinated, the murderer was never found.

Rebellion Of Rights

28 years where civilians continuously went against Lord Edwards, and began to fight for their rights of freedom. How Lord Edwards came to power is still unknown, but the Rebellion didn't care, or want to know. The Rebellion began with simple peaceful protests, but when many of the protest leaders disappeared, or found dead, the protests went to full blown shoot outs. Mugging, and general crime raised far further than in the past 200 years. Many of the rebels got close to Lord Edwards, and tried to put him out of power themselves, though none of them succeeded. Though during the 28th year, Lord Edwards came to his senses and decided it was time to put a end to this chaos. He offered the rebels a chance of power. A Council. The rebels declined, and stated that they would only stop their protests, and assassination attempts if Lord Edwards himself would back down to a Sector level below 20, he accepted, and the Council was enforced.

Most Known Council Decisions

Rebellion Of Rights Case

Within the first year of new political system, the rebels demanded that the first case would be what they had been fighting for through the last 28 years, freedom. Previously Lord Edwards kept sectors 1-10 happy, while letting the others to suffer from hunger and dehydration. It took 2 months to convince the rebels that the council will allow water, and food to go through-out the entire sectors. To sweeten the deal, the Council allowed the rebels to return to their homes, and live in peace again, though in return, the council ordered that they return any weapons, or objects made to cause harm. The rebels made peace with the new government, both of them keeping their promise.

The Law Enforcement Case

As Lord Edwards only took actions with Military and lethal force, there was no need for a criminal system. The criminals would simply die. The Council did not support this, so they introduced a law enforcement system. If a civilian would cause any minor crimes, 1 point was given to thier ID CODE, and slightly more serious offence would give them 5 points, but a Crime such as murder, or plotting to over throw power, 10 points. When a certain ID CODE reached 8-10 Points (depending on the seriousness of the points) they would got to prison. With a 8 to 0 vote. The system was introduced after a 3 months organising time.

Military Power to The Council Case

With Lord Edwards gone, the Military was prospering fast. The Council brought forward the case of The Council having Military Power. It was simple, only the Council will have authority of commanding the Military. The remaining rebels didn't like the idea at all, rumours broke out that another rebellion was about to begin, but the council promised on all actions preformed by the military shall be sacred to the voting system. The first council vote within 2 months finished with a 4-4 vote, the first ever draw vote was made on this case. During the next 2 Months of this case being opened, 3 of the Council members were replaced by new ones. The 2nd Council vote finished with a 5-3 Vote, giving The Council control over the Military.

How The Voting System Works

After every 2 months of a case being brought by The Council, a Council vote shall be created. If the votes come to a draw like the 'Military Power to The Council Case' The Council have another 2 months to discuss the case, when those two months are up, another Council Vote is drawn. If again the results are a draw, a ninth temporary Council Member have to be brought in for this single case. The 9th council member shall be picked at random, though this has never happened.
