Ships

I saw you added the page Crusader. Is the ship a completely new one with Discovery (I haven't played without discovery, to be honest)? If so, I think we shouldn't have a headline 'Discovery Variant', because that suggests that there are other variants.

I've notived similar problems with the other ships, for example the Banshee, which seems to be a stock ship and doesn't have a Discovery variant, but includes headlines about a Discovery variant (which are empty).

Maybe we should scrap the Discovery Variant headline altogether and give the pages that are about things from Discovery the category 'Discovery content', 'Discovery addition', or something like that? What do you think about it?

Also, I think that we should alter the weapon mount information. Currently, the pages only list gun/turrent mounts, optimal weapon class and max. weapon class. It would be more interesting how many mounts/turrets of each class the ship has, and where they can fire. For example, the page could contain a list like this:

2 class 7 guns

2 class 6 guns

2 forward-firing turrets

1 non-forward-firing turret

First of all, yes, the Crusader was in the orginal one

On the second part, I think that we should include the detailed stuff you suggested in the ship's page, but not in the summaries...that's a good idea though.

Also, here's an original Freelancer ship list: http://www.neoseeker.com/resourcelink.html?rlid=78855

I'll try to get it up later but until then, at least you'll have the link.

I'll make a template for the ships then.

Ok; by the way, we have all the pre-discovery freighters now; just search for "Freighetrs" (kinda obvious, but w/e =P)

Also, I take it you're the wiki admin? And does anyone else actually make/edit pages?

Cool, thanks for making the effort. About freighters, are they up to 500 or 1000 cargo? The pages Freighters and Freighters and Transports contradict each other in that point.

I'm not admin (not even a very experienced Freelancer player), as fat as I know, only Igiss is. I already tried to contact him, but have no answer yet. As far as I know, we WILL need an admin for certain things like deleting pages (Freighters and Transports is kinda useless when we have Freighters and Transports, too) or editing the Nagigation on the left.

I'm not sure about the size, and yes we do need an admin/mod

Ship format

I've added the page for the Defender. Do you think we can use the format for all the other ships?

Nodwick 07:56, 10 May 2008 (GMT)

Yea, but I think that we should give the Discovery prices/stats, not original Freelancer (seeing as this is a Discovery Wiki page); at least give both if you're going to have the original stats (which I guess will help some people googling Freelancer stuff)

F15pilotX 16:34, 11 May 2008 (GMT)

On second thought, we should make the page named Defender the Discovery version, and page Defender (Original) for the vanilla Freelancer ship.

F15pilotX 16:36, 11 May 2008 (GMT)

I didn't notice that the Defender was different in Discovery, because I didn't play Freelancer without mods. But I think you're right, the page Defender should contain the data about the Discovery version, and the very first line should read something like this:

'This page contains information about the Discovery version of this ship. For the original version, see Defender (original).'

Does that sound understandable enough?

Please also have a look at the block above the Ship format headline. Guess that's unfamiliar with people who don't discuss in Wikis often.
