In the aftermath of the Gallic invasion and destruction of Leeds, Bretonians were left in shock. This left an opening for a motley band of looters, smugglers, pirates, and desperate survivors to cobble together Halifax Freeport out of whatever remotely serviceable wreckage they could grab. The clumsy integration of disparate modules with no regard for origin or safety standards combine with the Hazards of the smog cloud that conceals Halifax to make one of the most unpleasant and dangerous stations in Sirius.

Despite the hazards, or perhaps because of them, Halifax accepts all visitors. Much of the station's income is dedicated to patching up the constant mechanical and power failures that plague the base, the base however has proved resiliant despite these challenges.
