Yukio Matsumoto is a Kusari freelancer.
Early Life
Yukio Matsumoto was born in the city of Kōfu, on Planet Honshu in the year 795 A.S.. His father was an Admiral in the Kusari Naval Forces and his mother owned a bakery. Yukio's mother Akira left her husband when Yukio was three. Yukio's father never spoke of her after that day and never told his son why she left. Two years later, Yukio's father fought in the Nomad War. It is presumed that he died at the Battle of Heaven's Gate.

Yukio Matsumoto was contracted by Top Gun Security for VIP protection and military training at the age of 16.
Cybernetic Experimentation
Yukio was one of two Top Gun employees who volunteered to be used in tactical augmentation experiments. Yukio's head was severed from his body from the neck down and he was outfitted with a cyborg exoskeleton and artificial white blood. His optical nerves and retina were damaged in the process of dailyzing this blood and had to be replaced with prosthetics. Nanomachines were implanted into his cerebral cortex.
