History:

Narrator: It was the 23rd century. Mankind’s darkest hour.

Computer: Heart rate and respiration: nominal. Life support on-line. Initiating cryogenic freezing. Commencing pod lock-down.

Sleeper Ship: …to Control. IR is complete. Bringing navigation systems on-line.

Control: Copy that. Green-green across the board.

Sleeper Ship: Good to hear. Bringing primary engines on-line. How’s it looking up there?

Control: All systems are go. Launch in T minus ten mintues and counting.

Sleeper Ship: Control? Incoming hostiles, ten minutes out. Should I abort?

Control: Negative. Launch is still a go.

Narrator: The war had been raging for almost a hundred years. We had been fighting for so long no-one could remember the reason why it had all started in the first place. All we knew is that there were two sides: The Coalition and The Alliance. For decades, millions died for the same piece of rock again and again. Finally, one side managed to gain the upper hand: The Coalition.

Control: Coalition carriers coming out of jump. All fighters engage! ASF One, we have lift-off. ASF Two, you are clear. Three is a go.

Narrator: In desperation, the Alliance launched five sleeper ships. The hope was for them to begin again far from the war and strife that had befallen Earth, to start free from the prejudices that had divided us for so long. Each sleeper ship was christened after its patron nation: The Bretonia. The Rheinland. The Hispania. The Kusari. The Liberty.

Escorts: I think we got them! Yee-haw!

Narrator: Against all odds, the colony ships broke through the Coalition blockade and headed for the Sirius system. That was 800 years ago, when we came here to rebuild our lives. We’ve come a long way since then. We have grown. We have prospered. We have flourished. But we will never forget.

All warfare is based on deception.

War never changes; however it is the few that can alter it enough that make the difference. The word Alliance spreads across many lips like a toxin would in a sea of hate and anger. The word Friend; many think they known its meaning; however in many cases that is wrong as it varies person to person…

Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable;

When the wars began to spread across the houses like a rapid fire spreading cross the open plains of Stuttgart; that meant it was time for a change; however humanity in its own right is not known for easy change or easy forgiveness of its enemies… When people came to Sirius they had hoped to escape Sol and the war that had befallen earth however due to human nature we were only able to have that pause…the short moment when all was peaceful…

When using our forces, we must seem inactive;

It didn’t last long when pirates began to spread like a virus through the living body; and it didn’t stop parasitic terroristic factions from forming. Quiet the difference instead; they began to grow in size with the enemies taking more and more liberties each day; ever hour it would grow worse and worse till; it could not be stopped…

When we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away;

Soon the greatest enemies of humanity returned; not the nomads however war itself had begun to spread across many minds; and it speeded up quickly within months; grew in days; and more dangerous by the hours. Warfare is based on deception; one’s personal foresight into a hazy world that they believe is right…

When far away, we must make him believe we are near.

Even in our own back yards the wars had begun to spread like a weed hidden in somebodies lawn. It had taken root in many hearts and minds and refused to level; even as our loved ones sat by and begged for it to end as soon as it had begun…

Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.

Fighting began with simple things that soon turned into much greater detail. Until the day that held the war was over; the public is left in a maze of questions and truth-less military power, abusive police forces, dishonest forces and the deadly forces from the darkness. This came at the cost of terrorist parties taking their liberty to form up and band together in hopes that their mission would become reality…

If he is secure at all points, be prepared for him.

After they had begun fighting; many lose their lives or homes in a matter of moments; entire cities fall to the fearful military might and whole armies begin to lose their moral of what is good and what is evil. Thousands are left stranded; others broken; some gone forever in the sea of darkness that is space…

If he is in superior strength, evade him.

Others would begin taking over smaller houses and groups in moments; like a virus overtaking a living cell quickly and without mercy. Millions vanish by the years and soon the houses were taken over and left in dust and ruins…

If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him.

What begins as simple words; simple questions turned into larger full scale warfare within days of them being said. Questions lead to fighting; comments to conflict and simple answers to blood-raged fueled fallouts…

Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant.

Some began from the darkness; others in the light; they forged distrust amongst the other armies ranks and made them fight each other. Some do it for honor; money and fame. Others do it to seek out the destruction of their enemies…

If he is taking his ease, give him no rest.

They said it would be over soon; how many didn’t see it coming was unknown and how it began to grow worse and worse was unforeseen. They began small however ended costly for everyone; no matter where war is; it leaves behind its trail of destruction and death…

If his forces are united, separate them.

False alliances; fake friends; were they real or just using them for power or fear? The questions and their answers are too far out to know or understand and many…just maybe we’ll never know…

Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.

Sometimes the incent take the hit first; where the military can’t protect them. Other times they hit stations or planets or even hidden bases to destroy the public that way…whatever the cause; warfare is a virus and it spreads until there is nothing left to spread to…

These military devices, leading to victory, must not be divulged beforehand. Now the general who wins a battle makes many calculations in his temple ere the battle is fought. The general who loses a battle makes but few calculations beforehand. Thus do many calculations lead to victory, and few calculations to defeat: how much more no calculation at all! It is by attention to this point that I can foresee who is likely to win or lose.

In the end; warfare spreads like a toxin in a sea of anger and fear…its fueled by hatred, rage, regret, and pain…it finds comfort in others misery and the loss of others to its spread…it does not care who it takes from or who it gives back to…sometimes war hits hard and unexpected however at times its calm and quietly spreading like an illness in the body. Warfare does not have an end; only a pause in its plans, it cannot be stopped; however it can be slowed, it can take many people; however if caught they can be freed…
