He still mourns the loss of his fiancé, Susanna Rivers, the namesake of his ship and the love of his life. His fiancé was killed in the skies above [[Manhatten]] when a [[Liberty Navy]] patrol scanned her cargo and found [[Alien Artifacts]] onboard. She had never told him about the Artifact, a little luck-stone she had owned since her childhood. She was ordered to drop her cargo of Artifacts, to which she responded by denying possession of any Artifacts. The Navy patrol opened fire, and a [[Defender]] destroyed her fighter in no time at all with a single [[Sunslayer Torpedo]]. Jacob was more lucky and returned fire, his shots destroying one Defender and weakening the shields of another before his own shields failed, his hull buckled, and his auto-eject shoved him into a cramped eject pod with limited life support.

By all rights, that should have been the end of Jacob McDaggit, and in a way it was. A nearby [[Junkers|Junker]] tractored in his escape pod, saving Jacob's life and then fled the scene. This Junker deposited Jacob, who was still unconscious from asphyxiation, on [[Rochester Base]] beyond the dark side of [[Manhattan]]. When Jacob awoke, the Junker who had saved his life was gone. Jacob stumbled over to the bar and ordered the strongest drink available before collapsing over the countertop, sobbing. He told his story to the Junker barkeep who indirectly suggested Jacob hitch a ride to [[Buffalo Base]] to join the Liberty Rogues. Jacob agreed, and told the barkeep to call him "Lash" from then on. Confused, the barkeep asked him why. Lash replied, "Because my life from now on will be lived only to lash out at [[Liberty]]."

Jacob Elmann 'Lash' McDaggit is one of Andre DelArco's primary roleplaying characters in the Freelancer multiplayer, especially on the Discovery Freelancer 24/7 RP server. He currently is a member of the Liberty Rogues and flies a the Barghest named Dead End.

Physical Appearance

At 5'6", Jacob 'Lash' McDaggit wouldn't be considered too much of a threat. However, despite his height he possesses all sorts of physical strength, his muscle mass causing him to weigh in at 275 lbs. His dark brown hair is unkempt and his ragged face sports a nine o'clock shadow. His jacket is a dull gray that would blend in perfectly to metal corridors or cement streets were it not for blood red highlights on its hems. A powerful slugthrower pistol with his name etched onto the barrel hangs in a holster under his left arm; all in all, the pistol is fourteen inches long from the handle to the barrel and would be far too powerful for the average person to wield in one hand, but Lash manages.
