Biography
Born on Leon Base in the year 789 A.S., Selena was the youngest of four children. Her parents were both pilots fighting on the front lines against the Hessian menace in Omega-5. Up until the age of sixteen most of her life had been spent on Leon, where she had been learning about the intricacies of spaceship maintenance from the base's technicians as soon as she could walk.
When the time came for her to face the Maldava trial, she was the last of her direct family still alive. Both of her parents had eventually been lost to the Hammen Hole, and none of her siblings had made it back from the Maldava cloud. Her own Maldava trial went smoothly, even if the ship she had used for the trial was a complete write-off on her return.
Selena had no money, no family and no ship. If she was going to ever be anything more than a spaceship technician in one of the more desolate parts of the Empire, she was going to need some help. She turned to the Benitez family. In return for her loyalty and service, she would be provided with a ship and the means to take down the enemies of the Corsair nation. What more could a young red-blooded Corsair want?
Her first act of offical piracy involved liberating several million credits and a Gaian parrot from a Bretonian merchant vessel. To this day the parrot lives in the Benitez family's bar, tearing at the eyes of anyone foolhardy enough to try and pet it.
