Review (4.86) An utmost heavy and sluggish gunboat, it has the weapons to tear down other, similar ships with relative ease. Review (4.86) This gunboat had a very bad name in 4.85. With the new mod comes the new upgrades for this ship and right now its nothing like before. The forward gun firing arc has been properly fixed. Its damage has been increased to 55 000 and its range to 2400 m. With the new turret zoom option no enemies can hide from yours eyes. All that makes the bretonia gunboat the best gunboat killer and in skillful hands can be more than deadly. Nevertheless its big and it is highly recommended to never fly one without an escort. Review (4.86) The Bretonian Gunboat is a large, slow, and ungainly vessel for something of gunboat size, yet not having the core or the armour to really justify these extreme disadvantages in any combat situation. To make matters worse, it's forward gun has an extremely constricted firing arc, which when coupled to its low maneuverability make it completely useless to the pilot of the ship, for these reasons, the gunboat, despite being the cheapest Bretonian capital ship to buy, remains the least used, and the least successful. Review (4.86) Not wanting to disagree with the reviewers above, but I have found that this gunboat is actually a fairly deadly weapon. It does require skill to turn it properly. The secret is to use strafe and reverse when you turn. Engine kill doesn't hurt either. As stated above, the forward gun does have a very constricted firing arc and requires some practice to be able to hit opponents. That being said, in the hands of a skilled pilot, and with a decent armor upgrade, this beast can hang with the best of them.
