Sancerre was built in 381-386 A.G.S. by Arcadia Materiaux Distribution. After the company went bankrupt in 414 A.G.S., most of its property was bought out by Gallic Metal Service. The price paid for Arcadia was ridiculously low considering the good state of the facility. Speculations arose that GMS bribed the officials to create terms for Arcadia's bankrupcy auctions that no competing corporation could fulfill, but these allegations could never be proven true.
Sancerre's primary function is mining the surrounding Aubigny field. The yield had been very large when the facility started operations, but the richest deposits were mined out in less then a century, forcing the facility to switch slower, more thorough mining methods. Yields have continued to fall ever since. The GMS projects that the field will be mined out within the next decade, forcing Sancerre to close.
