One should note that this ship isn't very suited for "kiting". The Storta would be best used against a Legate or perhaps the bigger capitals like the Kusari battleship or the Gallic battleships. The RM-2A is a recent development to replace the aging RM-1 Destroyer in service with the Maltese Navy for almost 300 years. Although it has higher mass and increased profile, it is also more maneuverable than its predecessor, sports a more lethal armament, and marginally heavier armor. The first prototypes were powered by conventional fusion drives, but the production models incorporate a new advance courtesy of the researchers at Corsica's R and D Lab: An Artificial Quantum Singularity Drive. Producing a very low and unfamiliar energy signature, it lowers the Destroyer's scanner profile considerably. The craft is less heavily produced than the old RM-1, and is not normally sold to other unlawfuls. Hackers and Phantoms have been sold models with a conventional fusion drive, but no others of this model have left Outcast control.
Handling
- This ship is too large to use docking bays, it must use mooring points.

The Storta destroyer is my favorite ship of all Outcast ships. The design, the agility, the shape, it's simply a winning combination. Then again, it has it's flaws. The biggest one is its blindzone. only two turrets cover the belly, and due to the ships rather long flat shape, this makes that belly a big target. Storta isn't that great of a ship in terms of cruiser to cruiser combat. Although against battleships, it can be VERY scary as its flat shape is almost impossible to hit from afar. One should note that this ship isn't very suited for "kiting". The few good turret placements that allow backwards firing, are unfortunately those turrets that are ridiculously easy to shoot/SNAC off. The Storta would be best used against a Legate or perhaps the bigger capitals like the Kusari battleship or the Gallic battleships. These are slow ships, which suit the Storta best. One should mount two or three pulses and a light mortar along with the Outcast Destroyer Turrets. That's pretty much all you need. Due to the turret placement, razors are not that good. Cerebrus turrets use too much energy for this ship to handle and you would in no case need those cerebrus's if you were to come up against another destroyer or cruiser. Your Destroyer turrets will do just fine. One should note that this is perhaps one of the few Outcast ships that can actually fight with reasonable ease in an asteroid field. Although not as effective against lighter battleships and cruisers, the Storta destroyer is remarkably effective against fighters and other small things, but beware of bombers. Your top and bottom is very easy to hit, even from a distance.Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Prysin |
