Constructed at Yokohama Shipyards in 798 A.S., the Battleship Matsumoto is one of the Genji class battleships that were built primarily as mobile bases and for securing key locations from pirate forces, rather than for the crushing brutality of frontline warfare against other capital ships, where manoeuvrability is often the key. As a result, the Matsumoto lacks the agility of its brothers but packs in considerably more armour, sensors and firepower. Currently the battleship is under the command of Shosho Tatsuya Mochizuki, and has been stationed near to the Rishiri Gate in order to safeguard the area from Blood Dragon and Golden Chrysanthemum attacks.
