Born 796 AS, Planet New London
Died Still alive

Shade was once a human being, but has since been reduced to a partial cybernetic: his brain, as well as some parts of his body, are human, but by far most of his body is robotic. He hides his appearance behind a mask and heavy clothes (often robes), and is incapable of speaking normally. Instead, he whispers. Shade has been known to commit various crimes, and to have an unhealthy interest in various types of research, not the least of which involving nomads.

Bio Summary

Originally born on Planet New London in 796 AS, Shade joined the Bretonia Armed Forces at the age of eighteen, in 814 AS. Later that year, his wing was ambushed by the Kusari Naval Forces, resulting in Shade being handicapped for life after being shot with a SNAC. He was taken into hospital incapable of speaking normally or even moving at all; a vegetable. Subsequently, Shade disappeared from the hospital (something that later turned out to have been the work of one of his former wingmen), undergoing an experimental medical treatment. The treatment was successful, allowing Shade to regain control over his new, cybernetic limbs. Ever since, Shade has been seen in various parts of Sirius. Supposedly, his current goals are to rebuild himself, and research new ways of improving what is left of him.

Philosophy

Shade's views on life are somewhat different than most. He believes everything can be rationally explained, being a self-proclaimed scientist. He believes that life, being nothing but flesh, bones, and chemical reactions in the brain, is meaningless. Hence, by his own reasoning, there is nothing wrong with killing a man, and the only goal in his life must be to improve the quality of his own life.

Criminal record

Shade has an extensive criminal record. Crimes include murder, theft, bribery, desertion, blackmail, artifact trade, and the conducting of invasive (and often lethal) scientific experiments on human beings.
