The "Valor" Gallic Battleship is extremely effective.  Its forward gun acts like a Heavy Mortar, except that it costs significantly less energy to fire, and has a higher projectile speed.  The ship has good overall firepower, 10 secondaries to counter smaller ships very well, and 6 primaries and 4 heavies to effectively deal with any larger ship.  The shape of the valor allows for effective vertical strafing with turning, allowing for easily dodging, granted that you are at an appropriate range.

The heavy turrets can only fire forwards, but this is no weakness as you will rarely "kite" with this ship.  Your enemies will be running, and with all of your heavy turrets and your forward gun, you can fill their engines with fire.  I personally advise using 8 gallic secondary turrets for fighting off smaller ships.  These are especially important against gunboats and smaller cruisers.  I also suggest 2 flaks, as slots 4/5 (your 3rd and 4th secondary turret slots).  I suggest a full 6 battleship primaries, and for your heavies, you'd be safe with a Heavy Trebuchet to help your forward gun with sniping, and 3 Cerberus turrets.|4.86}}
