Casablanca is a base orbitting planet Rabat in the Omega-47 system. Formerly inhabited by Corsairs attempting to mine the large quantities of Neon present in the atmosphere of Rabat, the base was captured by the Red Hessians as a strategic objective on their offensive of 811 A.S. The assault fleet was later engaged by a Corsair counter attack nearby the base, but was able to decisively hold the area. Although the base has been planned to become a major checkpoint on the road to Omega-41, the Corsair battleship Fes that has been stationed in the system to guard the jump hole, as well as the stream of pirates constantly heading towards Omega-49 has turned Casablanca into a monitoring outpost and refuel base, focusing on local defense rather than war preparations.
