Kansas System

Kansas is a relativley unpopulated system with many astrological features. Two planets; Topeka and Wichita with their moons Olathe and Colby populate the system along with a number of empty asteroid fields and an ice field. Despite it's features in terms of quantity there is hardly any quality amongst any of them. All but one planet has been considered unfit for terraforming.

The only long term inhabitants of the system seem to be an organization known of the Neo Terran Front, and supposedly plan to construct a sleeper ship there. They are usually accommodating enough to lone explorers or researchers, but are wary of corporate or military infringement on a system they consider to be under their jurisdiction. Several Liberty Navy secondary fleet vessels have gone missing after entering Kansas, and it is rumored the 'Neo-Terran Front' may be involved in their disappearance.

An unusual purple cloud of unknown matter exists within the Kansas system. However much pioneers try to register it onto the universal map charts our navigation systems do not recognise it as an existing substance, so no name can be or will be registered for this particular cloud. However it has been given a nickname for reference among pilots as the Tuttle Creek Nebula. Rumour has it a number of pilots have dissapeared into the depths of the cloud never to return; this adding superstition to the Kansas system along the lines of the tale of the wizard of oz. A common phrase is used amongst pilots when Kansas is the topic..

"Buckle up toto, were not in Kansas no more"

Asteroid Fields

Overland Park Asteroid Field

A field of rock asteroids within Kansas system. No pirate presence has been detected during initial surveys.

Arkansas Ice Asteroid Field

A large field of ice asteroids in Kansas system. Some of the asteroids contain mainly of water ice, but the field's remote location does not allow efficient use of water deposits.
