M41 Prototype
Template:Historical Ship Infobox The M41 Prototype was a ship briefly in service in the Corsair fleet during 817 A.S. Produced on a small scale at Tripoli Shipyard, this ship was given to a number of Captains in exchange for old M26 "Lunchbox" Gunboats in an effort to test the design before it went into mass production. The M41 Prototype recieved a mixed reception, and although the ship performed adiquatly in the field, many captains complained that the ship lacked the fearsome image of it's predecessor. The designers of the M41 prototype used the ship as a basis for the final M42 Imperator class Corsair Gunboat that went into mass production that year, gradually replacing the M26 as the Corsairs' favoured siege vessel. The hull design of the M41 gunboat was sold to the Hogosha, and used to produce the Raba Armoured Transport.
