Senonches is the oldest of all currently existing space stations in the Maine system. It was built in 370 AGS when the mining industry was on the rise across Gallia. It was designed to support asteroid miners operating in the nearby De Perseigne Asteroid Field. After 550 AGS, the demand for Copper fell and former plans to build a Trade Lane from Le Mans were cancelled. Currently, no asteroid miners are present in the field and mining is performed by modified transport ships using standard cargo beam technology. Surprisingly, the facility is still operating and even brings GMS some small profit, with several hundred workers employed piloting the mining ships, maintaining those ships, and operating the Copper processing facilities.
