Sulawesi bears the name of the first installation in the system, which was badly damaged due to the many battles that took place in its vicinity. After one especially intense battle, the base was damaged beyond repair. It was obvious however, that without a fortified outpost in the same location, the whole system would be much harder to defend. Luckily, a large enough ice asteroid was found in the vicinity and its conversion began without delay. Aside from the extremely thick layer of ice, the base is protected by heavy armor placed on autonomous compartments, each capable of operating the base's defences alone should all other compartments be lost, and as being the most secure base in Tau-44, it serves as an improvised headquarters of the Colonial Remnant's military.
