Ile-de-France Shipping was founded in 501 AGS during the First Gallic War, answering the Crown's need for a corporation willing to undertake risky wartime logistics. The favor they curried with the Crown allowed IDF to become the leading shipping corporation in Gallic space, accounting for the majority of the civilian transportation market.

The aftermath of the Gallic invasion left them targeted by anti-Royalist politicians, while independent shipping companies rushed in to take advantage of newly opened trade. The Kusari occupation of La Charite further harmed their bottom line, and a desperate board of directors have now turned to supplying the remains of the Royal Navy in the hopes of sparking a Royalist resurgence before the entire company collapses.

Rumors

Java Station
  • The miners here mine various materials that Gallia can use. We obtain Beryllium and Niobium here to ship to factories throughout Gallia. The prices they ask are relatively low, considering these materials are very rare throughout Gallia itself.

  • It's helpful to have an EFL refueling post on this station. Most of the Sirian stations do not carry our fuel, and once in a while our fuel tanks get hit in an Outcast ambush. This system is not a place you want to go dry in.

  • The new Jump Gate makes this mining operation very interesting for IDF Shipping. These miners used to ship a lot to Bretonia, and that surplus is now going to Gallia instead. If we'd needed to conquer mining bases like these, it would have been years before they would be operational again.

Freeport 6
  • If you'd like to fly into Gallia, I'm sure you could make money hauling Synth Paste from this base to Burgundy. I make that run myself for IDF and it is pretty lucrative, even though I'm a company man. Of course you have to have permission from the Gallia government first.

  • Freeport 6 is neutral territory between Kusari and Gallia. I am glad to have access to this station - it makes face-to-face meetings with my Kusari counterparts very easy and informal. Relations are still rather new, and we're still in the process of making new business deals and arrangements. Some have been done officially with lots of press, but for a quiet chat, this station is not a bad place.

  • IDF brings Manifolds from Languedoc down here to exchange for Sirian goods like Synth Paste. Gallic Junkers make the Manifolds, but aren't liked too much deeper in Sirius because of our history of spying on the other Houses. Zoners don't seem to care too much here, I guess they always assumed that Junkers are untrustworthy spies for someone, somewhere. That or they just plain do not care.

Holman Outpost
  • The miners here mine water and oxygen which helps us supply our fleet. While many supplies have to come from Gallia, at least these most basic supplies can be bought here. We ship it from this base to our various battleships in the region.

  • Supply ships are often instructed to hold here if there are problems ahead. Both Carcassonne and Guillestre can call for a convoy to hold in place if there are hostilities in their path. Suits me, seems one of our traders brought a few crates of Orleans Merlot this way. A little bit of home, right here.

  • These miners will sell anything to anyone. To them it does not matter who is in charge, just as long as they get paid for their labor. The Gallic Navy has let them be, and is now using them for their own purposes. Battleship Guillestre will make sure they don't doublecross us.

  • The Outcast attacks are intensifying here in Tau-31. With Carcassonne gone, patrols have to be sent from Guillestre. I suppose this system is just not important enough. A barely habitable planet and a half-wrecked mining station isn't worthy of our Navy.

  • Quite convenient how the Navy arranged for the supply line to be ran. Now that there is a Jump Gate in Tau-23 to Languedoc, we can run a nearly unlimited number of ships through there.
