Beauvais was one of the first space stations constructed by EFL Oil and Machinery back in the time when it was called EFL Oil. The company initially built its fortune on planetside mining of oil and producing a wide array of petroleum products. Moving to space was a necessary step forward to move the most ecologically hazardous productions away from the planet's surface, and to gain access to easily accessible resource deposits located in space.

EFL started constructing the station in the year 281 A.G.S., and in the hundreds of years to come the facility was rebuilt several times. It contains a number of highly efficient petroleum processing facilities, making Beauvais one of the primary sources of petrochemicals in the Ile-de-France system. The station is also known for being the closest lawful facility to Beaumont Base. Junkers are fairly frequent visitors at Beauvais, despite the attempts of EFL managers to drive the ambiguous faction away from the facility.
