The Alvin Katz, baptized after the hero and historical leader of the Coalition, is the first XKR-EV-TWO "Tempest" class carrier to leave the docks of Mykolaiv back in 823 A.S.. Acting mostly as an advanced forward operating base for the Coalition, this ship has traveled the Omegas through and through, delivering the word and power of the Coalition wherever it is seen.
A curious fact, that makes the carrier stand out is the huge lettering in the aft hull with the sentence: "Katz Lives!", a statement that clearly shows that this ship is not only seen as a war vessel but also an icon of the Coalition.
In its first major operation in Hamburg, the Alvin Katz assisted in freeing political prisoners from Veirlande Prison, escaping before Rheinland forces could retaliate fully. Following this mission, emergency orders were issued to the fleet to proceed to Omega 47, to fill the void left by the Kassel in the Omegas. The fears of a Corsair attack on vulnerable Hessian bases had proven true, and Alvin Katz was faced with its biggest challenge yet, defending Planet Tangier from the Battleship Fes together with what Hessian forces were available locally.
The fight was a fierce one, and the Katz sustained moderate damage to its plating and electronics arrays, with heavy casualties to the fleet reported. Unfortunately, the Hessian installation orbiting the planet succumbed to a last minute push by the Fes, and was lost. Nevertheless, the defense was a success and the Katz stood victorious outside the planet, damaged, but standing. The fleet is in desperate need of repair, but without relief the ship must maintain its position above Tangier for the time being.
