The DHC-Alexander is a Democritus class yacht, commissioned by Daumann Heavy Construction. It is used for different purposes, as a private transport for the family and as a mobile HQ when required.

History

The Alexander was built under special commission at Oder Shipyard. Named after the founder of Daumann Heavy Construction, Alexander Daumann. It was designed under the strict supervision of Walter Daumann, and according to his needs.

The Daumann concept

The yacht is a clear show of the excesses and luxurious life of the Daumann family, not a single square feet was spared. The walls are made of marble and decorated with gold and diamonds, and the general theme is that of the Imperial Rheinland. The best artists were hired to exclusively design the interiors. The diamonds are known as a symbol of the Daumann family and the corporation, and as such are all over the place. There is room for up to 300 guests, the crew and special rooms. The family is known as a very elitist family in Rheinland. Self-proclaimed "Keepers of Imperial Rheinland" their properties try to bring a taste of the old empire.

Recreational Yacht

As a private yacht, it has suites for every guest, up to 300. Additionally special suites for Walter Daumann's family, his wife, 2 daughters and a son. In the lower deck, a spa, gym and 2 pools take most of the space, along with the crewmen quarters and the engine rooms. In the main deck, the guest rooms, the "Hall of Diamonds", a cinema with a max capacity of 400 people. There is also the dining room. In the upper deck, the family suites, and their private rooms.

Mobile HQ

As a mobile HQ the yacht is no less luxurious. In the lower deck, 2 rooms, used for private board meetings, away from intrusions. In the main deck, most of the meeting rooms, along with smaller rooms, used as auxiliary or temporary departments. The upper deck has the main meeting hall, used by the Board of Directors.

Other Features

Security posts are located at every deck, two per deck in opposite sides of the yacht. The bridge, is classified as a different deck, but technically it is part of the upper deck. Security command, both internal and external is located here as well.

Security

With the increase of population unrest, due to the failing economy, a nearly lost war, and the increase of revolutionary movements, the Daumann family and the corporation is growing each day more paranoid and obsessive about security. Cameras are located at every public room, and is believed hidden ones are located on guest rooms, and when operational are watched 24/7. A special security device connected to the ventilation system, is set to release sleeping gas should security command find something abnormal. No person, even security employees can enter the yacht with any sort of potential weapons, and security officers are equipped wit Non-lethal equipment, a rare approach for DHC security. A set of hidden rooms are also located throughout the yacht in case all else fails. But security goes further than internal measures aboard the yacht. When operational, the yacht is escorted by a wing Daumann security vessels, usually military "Wraiths" and "Bergelmirs", commissioned specially for Daumann Heavy Construction. These escorts remain around the yacht at all times until the yacht finds a safe place to dock or land. Some speculate that Daumann spends more in security for the yacht than anything else in it.

Interesting facts

  • "The Hall of Diamonds", was designed by Rebecca Daumann. The room contains hundreds of decorations. 80% of what you see in the room is made of diamonds or has diamonds in it. it's also one of the most watched room of the yacht. Despite the cost was not disclosed, its value is speculated at over 20 million credits.
  • Security officers use non-lethal weapons imported from Kusari. The reason for this is that Daumann Arms doesn't make non-lethal weapons.
  • The cost of maintaining the yacht, when operational is of 5 million credits per week. Non-operational it goes a little over 1 million.
