Full Name: Dision Abys
Gender: Male
Age: 30-35
Origin: Kusari
Occupation: Trader
Affiliation: Border World Exports / Bretonia
Owned Ships
Turing: A Percheron, somewhat modified in the cockpit, housing a custom leather seat with a concealed compartment for drinks. There is also a gaming system installed in the ship's computers. The name Turing comes from the Border World Exports' tradition of naming ships after famous british people dating back to Earth. Dision chose to name his ship after Alan Turing because he was the person who created the first theoretical computer.
It was recently disabled by a hostile Liberty Rogue ship due to suffering severe technical malfunctions and subsequent systems shutdown. The emergency escape pod ejection system ejected Dision to safety while the disabled, but intact, ship was looted empty. Dision and the Turing was soon recovered by Bowex ships and repaired into working order.
Early history
Born in the fringes of the Kusari space, Dision was born with an odd name and little formal education as the only child, giving him freedom and time. The family was dabbling in technology, sometimes upgrading existing programs and creating new hardware. Soon the only child also learned the trade, in teenage years even improving it. The Abyses became known locally as the best "tech geeks", repairing customers' hardware and improving software, all while earning a nice profit. All was well until Dision's parents were killed by an unknown assailant, after their family secrets. Witnessing the deaths, he soon left the system, wandering around while starting to work on a project of his: Virtual reality. He wanted to be with his family again.
Early adult years
Tired of wandering and working on a seemingly insurmountable project to complete alone, he settled down near a mining colony, once again, on the fringes of Kusari space. He started working with the local miners, creating advanced scanning software for the ships to analyze rocks for their ores. It all ended with an error he made while improving software while intoxicated, causing a severe malfunction in the ships using his software, crashing them into asteroids, killing the crew instantly. Bitter, Dision left, putting his past as a software engineer, behind.
Now
While traversing the space, he was recruited by Border World Exports in Bretonia, while sulking in a bar. In this completely new and unknown environment, he finally felt he could have a fresh start as a trader, working in convoys. Unwelcoming at first, he soon opened up when experiencing the innocent kindness of his tutor and escort of the company: Kiriko Hidamari, who appears to be also from Kusari.
Occupation
Dision is now working for Border World Exports, trading various goods, ores and materials between planets and bases. He dislikes operating alone, thus prefers to be part of large-scale convoys and enjoying a company whenever he feels like it.
Additional personality traits
Music: Dision likes to listen to old music found in antique stores, often buying copies. Out of all instruments, he likes violin the most. People in convoys often hear this music in the background of his transmissions.
Alcohol: Because of the hardships of the past, present and possibly future, he has grown to love alcohol, keeping a stash with him at all times, in a carefully concealed compartment in the cockpit of his ship. Sometimes he also ends up drinking on the job, much to the dismay of his colleagues, especially Kiriko and her assistant AI, Clytemnestra (Usually referred to as "Cly") Dision has never tried the Wine made in Gallia, getting his hands on a bottle is one of his secret wishes.
Video Games: Despite trying to put behind his past, he is unable to forsake it completely. He enjoys playing video games installed in his ship's computers and ran by emulators. He likes simpler games, sometimes extremely old, dating back to Earth. Much like alcohol, playing video games on the job is frowned upon by his colleagues. When not hearing Dision gulping beer, it is likely you will be hearing Pong in background of his transmissions, instead.
Relations
Kiriko Hidamari: Kiriko was the first person Dision met after becoming an employee of Border WOrld Exports. Immediately noticing her Kusari origin due to her speech behaviour, he deliberately hid his own Kusari origins and lied to her about his previous occupation of being in the "military". Dision is impressed by her prowess in combat, as well scouting and leadership, effortlessly destroying pirates or anybody else threatening the trade convoys. Her warm demeanor immediately fractured the hard shell Dision grafted around himself to bury the past, bringing forth a more open and polite, yet gruff, personality.
Clytemnestra: Dision has no real "relationship" with Clytemnestra, or Cly for short, other than it acting as an information source and encyclopedia regarding surroundings and different factions inhabiting Sirius space. Not admitting to himself, he remains somewhat sceptical of the nature of Cly being an AI, being vulnerable to cyber-attacks and possibly going rogue.
Charles Kenneth Red: Charles was employed and trained at the same time as Dision. Both being rookies, they formed a loose bond. He is piloting a ship named "Baird".
