DSCore: Tridente

Designed to give the Outcasts an edge when faced with overwhelming numbers of enemy strikecraft, the Tridente is a large Anti-Fighter Gunship which has its roots in the Borderworlds line. Sleek and deadly Tridente is set to play vital role in major conflicts across Sirius from the dense asteroid fields in the Tau Border Worlds to the vast nebulas of the Sigmas.

Review (4.85) The Tridente, when compared to the Lane Hacker Gunship, handles less responsively, though it's still enough for most combat maneuvers. This lack of maneuverability is compensated somewhat by additional power regeneration and capacity compared to the lighter criminal gunboats. Review (4.85) The Tridente is probably one of the most unbalanced ships in 4.85. Imagine a light gunship handling boat with the power of a corsair gunboat. While only six turrets can face forward or backward in any given time, it still is possible to mount missiles and shoot them manually or in certain angles, which gives this ship an edge over other of it's class. Mounting two pulses in the back also proves handy when passing an opponent gunboat, while mounting three razors on the 360 slots can prove a surprise to even the most skilled bombers and fighters. In all, this is not the pirate gunboat one would use for pirating due to the fact, that using four cerberuses and two pulses proves to be suicide against anything smaller than a gunship. In all, a light boat with eight turrets and with 300 active individuals (Since 27.12.10) it is one of the most popular gunboats on discovery.
