Once a safe haven and a profound ship engineering facility that housed many Outcast civilians, Siracusa has now become a dangerous place to live in due to constant [[Corsair]] threat. The largest Outcast base in Omicron Eta, Siracusa is located not far from the jump hole leading to Omicron Alpha. Initially intended as a shipbuilding and prototyping facility, the Corsair attacks on Omicron Eta have forced the Outcasts to retask this base to a defensive role. Siracusa now repairs and refuels Outcast fighters returning from patrols along the minefield, and keeps watch over traffic heading to the Omicron-85 jump hole. Corsair raiders have attacked the station several times, but have so far bee able to do significant damage.
