Tungsten (W) is a hard, grayish white metal that possesses the highest melting point of all the unalloyed metals, and the second highest of all the elements after carbon. Tungsten carbide is used extensively to form metal working tools. It's high melting point makes it ideal for use in high temperature conditions such as rocket nozzles, turbine blades, and as an ingredient in Super Alloys. It's high density makes it valuable in radiation shielding, and its strength makes it ideal for use in the production of armor piercing Munitions.
