Arnon Asteroid Field was discovered only in 640 AGS, long after colonization of Berry had begun. The small field is located off the orbital plane and is almost impossible to notice with the naked eye. It proved to be rich in Platinum, a material rarely encountered elsewhere in Gallia. However, extracting the Platinum from Arnon's asteroids required special equipment, standard mining equipment being unable to accomplish the task. Vierzon facility was built in 671 AGS within the field, shortly after the vertically aligned trade lane was built leading directly inside the field.

While Planet Eday was found by the IMG to be an unremarkable cold lifeless planet, its gravity well attracts micrometeors that orbit around the Orkney main star. The micrometeor dust field is almost impossible to notice with the naked eye, but a more extensive study proved said micrometeors to be rich in precious metals, materials rarely encountered in large quantities in Gallia.

Finding this trove was one thing, mining it was another. It took the Gallic Metal Service some time to come up with a reliable way to capture and process the rapid meteors, and used the natural gravity well of Eday to harness them. Once successful field tests had been carried out, Vierzon was completed to maintain the small mining fleet of specialized craft that work the field and process the various metals. Due to their high value, resource transports to and from Vierzon are generally under heavy guard.
