Soledad is the only other planet that the Outcasts have settled to date. As seen from space Soledad is a beautiful planet with green continents and an abundance of water. But the planet is surrounded by a rather powerful magnetic field that quickly corrodes any electronics that come into it's influence. No ship can withstand extended exposure and building docking rings is impossible. Because of these challenges only a small group of scientists resided on the planet at first.
And then these scientists discovered that when Alien Organisms were seeded into the world's natural soil that Cardamine plants would grow. Because of these first few experiments wild Cardamine grows in a narrow Malta-like tropical zone near the planet's equator. A small group of farmers now reside on Soledad growing Cardamine. Small shuttles take essentials for life on Soledad down from Genoa Base and return with Cardamine for processing.
