Fort Coleraine was constructed out of necessity to serve as the Molly's regional command center, following the loss of the Cork settlement. In addition to being a fall-back point for the Mollys should something happen to Arranmore, it also houses the Foyle Shipyard, which produce a small number of Capital Ships for their brethren. However, while Foyle has the ability to produce warships, its capacity is far less than other shipyards.

The fortress also contains a number of weapon manufacturing facilities to fuel the effort to free Dublin from the grasp of Bretonia and push back the tide of Corsairs attempting to gain access to Bretonia. Eventually, some of these weapons find their way to the black market via Junkers or other smugglers.
