"Welcome, Welcome to the GC Tea House.

You have chosen or been chosen to relocate to one of our Finest remaining Watering Holes.

I thought so much of the GC Tea House that I elected to establish my administration here from the booth so thoughtfully provided by Our Benefactors.

So, weather you are here to stay, or passing through to parts unknown...

Welcome to the GC Tea House

It's Safer Here" ~Ironwatsas

The GC Tea House is a (now infamous) watering hole located on Ainu Depot, and run by the Golden Chrysanthemums and often supplied by the Consortium. It is the main social gathering point on the station, a place of stories and recurring hilarity and bouts of insanity. The Tea House also plays host to members of the Blood Dragons, Consortium, Outcasts, and occasionally Junkers, Lane Hackers, and Cardamine Smugglers.

History

The GC Tea House can safely be assumed to be as old as Ainu Depot itself. Origionally, the room now housing the Tea House was an open room often used for storing Cardamine or other Cargo. Built off of the Main disembarkation area for pilots and near the Cafeteria and Pantry, it was rennovated into it's current form probably before 700 A.S. Since then, several generations of GC Geishas and Persons have administrated the Tea House. Currently, nobody in particular runs the tea house, though several high ranking elders frequenting the bar usually step in if issues arise.

Design & Ammeneties

The Tea House itself follows a combination of traditional Oriental facade and an ordinary bar, with paper decorations and lamps arranged around the walls (Declared 'Like the inside of a Pipe-bomb' by Ironwatsas). The Decorations pay tribute to generations of sisters whom built them over time, often considered memorials to past GC pilots. The Seating arrangements however, are standard fare, with most of the chairs and tables stolen from luxury liners. A Sturdy wooden bar is built onto one of the walls of the room, next to the entrance to the Pantry connecting to the main Cafeteria (which the tea house has largely supplanted).

A large bay window (actually an LCD screen displaying feed from a trainable external camera) displays the colorful Hokkaido nebulae and helps in lighting the room. In the center of the room sits a large Holovision, aquired by Ironwatsas and linked to the station's tachyon transciver array, which picks up signals from across Kusari at FTL speeds.

While most of Ainu's air supply is flooded with trace amounts of Cardamine, to sustain the inhabitants, the Tea House is not. This is because many non-GC or Outcast personell visit the station, and the tea house is generally where said outsiders will socialise with the GC. However, trace amounts of cardamine still exist inside the Tea House's air supply, which can often be mistaken for insence.

The Tea House was origionally serviced by a bartending robot, or occasionally skilled Geishas for special guests or occasions. However, the Bartender robot was destroyed by Watsas after he presumed it to be sexually assaulting him. The bar was origionally secured by a scanning array, security cameras, and a metal detector (which was also destroyed by Watsas). With many of the regular patrons heavily armed (despite the 'rule' not to be so.) for their own safety from the frequent apocalypses which often strike without warning.
