Omega-58 System

Omega-58 is the stronghold of Das Wilde and the system to which they fled after being defeated in the Omicrons. Explorers who venture into this system almost always forfeit their lives to its guardians, and only the strongest leave to tell the tale- but they do not leave unchanged. The system is notable for the Nomad Jump Gate being constructed in it. This gate is being powered by an ancient power cell, and is generating effects similar to a black hole whenever ion storms pass through it. The planets and debris in the system were pulled from nearby systems by this device, and provide the Wild with a surplus of resources with which to build an armada of Scorpion gunboat drones and other ships.

Asteroid Fields

Outer Asteroid Belt A large belt of asteroids attracted to the Nomad Gate from outer reaches of the Omega-58 system. Gravitation and magnetic impact of the Gate is estimated to reach 0,5 light years from its location in every direction.

Intermediate Asteroid Belt The belt located between Inner and Outer Asteroid Belts of Omega-58 is comprised of asteroids and planetary fragments dragged into the Nomad Gate anomaly. Asteroids of this belt are more dense than Outer Belt asteroids, but are also smaller.

Inner Asteroid Belt Inner Belt is located next to the Nomad Gate and contains a large number of small asteroid particles. Most of those particles are remnants of larger asteroids and two planetoids caught and torn apart in the Gate's anomaly.
